The go-to for dental education
in Australia.
Not what you expect.
Exactly what you need.
There is a version of infection prevention training that hands your team a checklist and calls it done.
Niche Dental is not that.
We teach dental teams how to think critically and make good decisions. Infection prevention is a belief system built on trust, and our approach respects that. Everything we do is underpinned by foundational principles that support best practice within the regulatory framework dental teams operate in.
Every course, every advisory engagement, and every conversation that comes out of Niche Dental starts here. With the right thinking, the right principles, and a genuine respect for what infection prevention actually means in practice.
What a few of the 500+ practices say
“Kylie has always been at the forefront of infection control
knowledge as it applies to us in our dental settings. This course
takes the overwhelming and filters down the changes we can
make today to ensure we comply with the latest updates.”

What we do.
Niche Dental works with dental teams and organisations across
Australia on infection prevention and control, clinical governance,
quality and safety, and accreditation support.
Why people come to us.
Something has usually prompted the call.
Kylie’s first question is always the same: What has prompted you to reach out?
These are the right reasons.
And they are what Niche Dental is built for.
Founded by Kylie Robb.
Twenty years of deliberate progression.
Junior assistant to senior assistant, clinical coordinator, clinical operations manager, practice manager. Then to the Australian Dental Association, leading the work to get the first cohort of dental practices through accreditation, where more than half of the requirements centred on infection prevention and control in dentistry.
It started on the floor.
Kylie started as a junior dental assistant in 2002. Not a natural, by her own account. Wrong instruments, wrong words, the occasional poorly timed reaction to something she was not expecting.
The shift came when she was assigned to work alongside a new graduate dentist navigating the same learning curve at the same time. Two people figuring out how to do the work with purpose and intention, building something together from the ground up. That experience is where the Niche Dental philosophy took shape, long before the business existed.
From the floor to the world stage.
Advisory roles for the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care. An academic appointment at the University of Sydney’s School of Dentistry. A non-executive directorship at the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control during the COVID-19 pandemic. Presenting on dental infection prevention for the World Health Organization.
There is nobody else like her in Australia.
Kylie is a dental infection prevention specialist in the truest sense of the phrase. Not because of the title, but because of what built it. More than ten years presenting professionally on infection control, a profile built on trust, and a reputation across the dental profession that has never needed to announce itself.

What it feels like to work with us.
Real confidence in infection prevention comes from understanding the purpose behind it.
Who it protects, what it means for the practice, and how it connects to the expectations of patients, stakeholders, and regulators.
Niche Dental builds that understanding first, then underpins it with first principles and best practice so it holds up in any situation.
People who have worked with Kylie tend to use the same words:
- Anchored
- Invigorated
- Capable
- Surprisingly enjoyable
Teams leave with a system for infection prevention and control in dentistry that holds up through:
- Shift changes and staff turnover
- New team members finding their feet
- The harder questions that do not always have a simple answer
Dental safety leadership looks like this in practice: a team that knows exactly where they stand, works confidently within the regulatory framework, and has made the standard their own.
Not what they signed up for. Better.
Let’s get it sorted.
If you’re building consistency within a practice team, looking for training that supports dental assistants on the job, or working through a clinical governance challenge at an organisational level, we’re ready to help.
